BAINBRIDGE - Southwest Georgia Farm Credit presented two local seniors with $1,000 scholarships to pursue their college education. Sutton Bridges of Southwest Georgia Academy and Sydney Thomas of Miller County High School were among the 2017 recipients.
Ms. Bridges plans to attend LaGrange College to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Thomas will be attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education.
"Sutton and Sydney exemplify the kind of student we wanted to help by providing these scholarships," said Duane Watson, Relationship Manager at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. "They are great role models and we are delighted to award scholarships to each of them."
In the seventh year of its scholarship program, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit commits $4,000 each year to area students, awarding four seniors with $1,000 each.
Also winning scholarships were Akshay Patel of Westwood Schools in Camilla and Sarah Michael Farrington of Bainbridge High School.
