Southwest Georgia Farm Credit Announces 2020 Scholarship Winners
In the eighth year of its scholarship program, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit awarded each of four seniors a $1,000 scholarship to pursue their college education. “The quality of the applicants we received has been amazing,” said Brant Harrell, Relationship Manager at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit.
In Thomasville, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit presented Thomasville High School Scholar Academy senior, John M. West, a $1,000 scholarship to pursue his college education. “With his strong work ethic and commitment to both service and academic achievement, John will no doubt be highly successful in all he chooses to pursue,” said Al Nicholson, Relationship Manager at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “We’re honored to award him with this scholarship.” Mr. West plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in the area of Law.
Miller County High School senior, Victoria Fleet, received a $1,000 scholarship to pursue her college education.“Victoria has demonstrated a clear commitment to her academics as well as community involvement.,” said Brant Harrell. Ms. Fleet plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
Charlotte Schopen-Davis of Americus-Sumter High School and Alam Anjum of Southland Academy were presented with $1000 checks. “This year’s recipients have a spirit of learning and a dedication to fulfill their hopes and dreams for rural America,” said Brandon Vann, Relationship Manager at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “We are pleased to award these scholarships to these students.” Ms. Schopen-Davis plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in English and Communication. Mr. Anjum is planning to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in Biology/Neuroscience.
