Southwest Georgia Farm Credit Launches Crop Insurance Program
Bainbridge, GA – Southwest Georgia Farm Credit is excited to announce the launch of its new Crop Insurance Program, designed to provide farmers with robust protection against the uncertainties in the agriculture industry. This program will support the farming community by offering tailored insurance solutions that safeguard crops from a variety of risks, including adverse weather conditions and market fluctuations.
“We understand the critical role that farmers play in our community and the challenges they face,” said Southwest Georgia Farm Credit CEO Paxton Poitevint. “This program is another way for us to provide service to farmers in our region and to support them in every way possible.”
The Association’s Crop Insurance Program will be led by Ragan Brown, who serves the organization as Director of Financially Related Services. She and Matthew Burch, an experienced Relationship Manager who spent several years as a crop insurance agent, will work with farmers to offer a streamlined approach to working with the Association.
While the crop insurance program is another way to expand services to members, it is not a requirement to have a loan with Southwest Georgia Farm Credit in order to obtain crop insurance with the Association. Members may also obtain crop insurance through any agent of their choosing.
Southwest Georgia Farm Credit will offer a wide range of coverages, including Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Dairy Revenue Protection (DRP), Crop-Hail, Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) Coverage, Whole-Farm Revenue Protection, and Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI). The Association will also offer Hurricane Insurance Protection (HIP-WI)—an option that provides coverage for a portion of a crop’s value if a hurricane or tropical storm makes landfall in the area.
“We work with farmers every day to help them build successful operations,” Brown said. “Crop Insurance provides another tool producers can rely on us to deliver.”
